Lakewood Madsens

An old suburban weed-infested, dog-damaged backyard lawn with overgrown shrubs was transformed into an expanse of crushed rock and groupings of moss rock boulders, grasses and perennials. A naturalistic water bog sits in a hollow among the boulders, collecting water from rain or hose. Water irises and aquatic grasses highlight the bog with their bright yellow and purple blooms. This backyard needs less maintenance, will not succumb to occasional lapses in watering, and is friendly to dogs and small wildlife.
