“Excellence in Landscape Award 2002 ALCC”

“We wanted to change what was once a side yard used as a soccer field to an intimate place of enjoyment for children, grandchildren and for entertaining our friends.  It was a great experience for us to work with a very talented landscaper and her team, all of which took time to understand our interests and lifestyle values.”

This large side yard in Congress Park, surrounded with mature Colorado spruce, needed an intimate patio for secluded socializing and relaxation. Entering through an old gateway trellis, covered with wisteria, a pathway leads to a new patio of old brick pavers. A sculpted mound planted with shrubs, perennials and groundcovers, crowned with a Russian hawthorn divides the elongated lawn for interest and function. Hollowed moss rock boulders to collect water add a finishing touch to the design.
